Account was switched OK, but I couldn't change anything afterward because I had forgotten the Admin name and password combo. I was able to restart the Mac with my normal login password, but I couldn't log into any secured site because it had to be an 'approved' site (and I couldn't add the site because I couldn't remember the Admin name + pw combo.)

/sbin/mount -uw /

rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
(That's the letter 'r' 'm' and then a space before the forward slash. No space before '.apple'. This deletes a file that tells your computer that you have completed the initial setup. )

4. Create a new administrator account called test admin.
5. Open users and groups, select my primary account and disable (uncheck) parental controls and enabled admin status.
6. Log into primary account and remove the test admin account.
